One of the best ways to meet new people and get involved with the Association
is to join one of our clubs or societies. From playing in inter-university
matches to big group nights out; clubs and societies are quite often the
cheapest and best way to have amazing fun at University.
On our Paisley campus we have lots for the sporty people out there including
Badminton, Football, Gaelic Football, Hockey (both male and female) and Netball.
Martial Arts disciplines are catered for with the Aikido, Muay Thai boxing and
Tae Kwon Do clubs. For all you adrenaline junkies out there, our Mountain Biking
Club competes in the Scottish Downhill Association's events throughout the year
as well as their own events. Our Snow Sports Club has also been success,
catering for the experienced and not so experienced among you. Our Ayr campus,
although smaller, has had an active Christian Union for many years and only last
year got our first LGBT Society up and running. Ayr Campus' Football team, the
infamous Craigie Kings, is also looking to build on its many successes of last
year.
Don't worry though if you are not a sporty person, we have a lot to offer you as
well. From Religion to Politics, Rock Gods to Role-players, there's plenty about
for you. The best thing is though, if we don't have something that floats your
boat and you want to start your own club, YOU CAN!! Simply contact our Vice
President Sports and Societies, Sarah Mac Laughlin, who will be only to happy to
help. She can be contacted whether in person on the top floor of the Union, by
email at vpss@upsa.org.uk or phone on 0141 849 4160. Also look out for the ACS
Fresher Fair near the start of Semester One which will have lots of already
established clubs and societies just desperate for you to sign up!
